In Development

From scripts

to screen.

Weather House Films develops original screen projects from first spark to finished work. The studio’s evolving catalogue of scripts makes room for all of the collaborators needed to bring original stories to life.

The Woodpile

When a giant pile of deadwood appears in his driveway one morning trapping his car in the garage, a newly separated man spends one absurd day trying to make someone else take it away—only to find himself drawn into the makeshift family forming around the burden he cannot move.

The Trailer

Desperate to sell his suburban home to pay for his dying wife’s care, a xenophobic retired border agent turns his old enforcement instincts on the mysterious newcomers next door—until an impossible encounter upends everything he believes about who belongs.

The Manifesto

When his meticulously ordered supply of canned soup inexplicably begins turning into tennis balls, a lonely manifesto-writing recluse is drawn out of his imagined kingdom and into an unexpected relationship with the real world.

The Running Mate

After a viral coffee-ordering fiasco leaves him hopelessly out of touch with Middle America, a presidential candidate’s data-obsessed advisers present him with an unthinkable running mate—the only choice their AI says can save his campaign.

Our Approach

Find the story.

Build outward.

Generate the Script

We identify the humanness, emotional promise, visual world, and audience-facing hook before the project expands.

Design for Collaboration

We shape scripts and projects to give our collaborators a clear vision and invitation into the work while also maintaining a scope that is practical but creativley challenging.

Assemble the Team

Every script and project idea moves toward finding the right team to bring it to life. We invite collaborators to inquire about participating in any of our projects currently in development.

(we also love conversations with financing partners)
